Book 6 Unit 3“ Are You at Risk?”教学案例

一、学情分析

教学对象为我校高二年级学生,智力发展趋于成熟。他们的一部分学生对英语的认知能力比高一阶段有了进一步的发展,渐渐形成了用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力。但是他们中很大一部分学习英语仍停留在死记硬背的基础上,学习技能和策略基本没有形成,很难把语言学习与现实生活和兴趣联系起来。所以我在上课时通过任务型课堂活动和学习,加强学生的学习自主性,主动参与到活动中去,成为课堂的主体,同时也加强了与他人交流合作的能力。

二、教材分析

这一课是本单元第二个阅读课。本单元的主题是“A healthy life”。在上这一节课前并没有让他们了解太多的与课文内容相关的知识,只是课前教他们读了一下单词。我在备这一课时,发现关于艾滋病其实很多同学应该是比较熟悉的话题,可能其它的科目也有涉及到,所以导入应该不会很困难,主要是考虑学生如何将有关的知识用英语表达出来,通过阅读了解艾滋病的传播途径和防预办法,通过讨论知道我们对待艾滋病及艾滋病人应有的态度,以及我们如何帮助他们。

三、教学目标

本课为阅读课型,教学内容大致分为以下几个方面:

1.通过彭丽媛反歧视艾滋病人公益广告引入艾滋病这一话题。

2.通过阅读了解什么是艾滋病,什么是病毒,病毒怎么传播,人是如何染上艾滋病的。

3.让学生通过一个图表来讲述人是如何染上艾滋病的。

4.然后进一步检测学生有关艾滋病的知识,哪些和艾滋病人接触行为是安全的。

5.让学生写一篇建议信。

四、教学策略

先利用公益广告引起兴趣,然后带着问题有目的地阅读文章,通过回答问题掌握细节,知道什么是艾滋病,什么是病毒,病毒是怎么传播的,人是如何染上艾滋病的,学习用英语归纳以及复述,使他们在掌握查读的阅读技巧的同时也增加了见识。

五、教学过程

1.Lead in(导入)

Lead the students to watch a viedo and present some background information of Aids/HIV.

(设计说明)利艾滋病的公益广告让学生知道这堂课的主题是什么,并且使用幻灯片展示一组数据让学生觉得艾滋病很可怕并且离我们生活很近。然后问学生看了这些数据有什么感觉,从而导出课文的标题,“我们处于危险中吗?”。

2.Get to know more about AIDS(进一步了解课文中有关艾滋病的知识)

( 1). Fast-reading What's the main idea of each part and match them correctly

Part1:  Ways to protect yourself.

Part2: Some wrong statements.

Part3:  Information about HIV&AIDS.

( 2). Careful –reading

Part 1:Read the paragraphs 1 quickly and find out the answers to the following questions in 3 minutes.

1.What’s a virus? A virus is a very small ____________that _____________.

2. What is HIV? HIV is a________, which weakens a person’s ______________.

3.What is AIDS ? HIV ________the immune system so much that the body can no longer_______. The __________of the illness is called AIDS.

(设计说明)阅读课文通过设计这些问题帮助学生了解文本内容,找出中心思想和段落大意,教会学生识别主题句,掌握文章的篇章结构、基本内容。然后,学生们就能很容易说出艾滋是什么,传染方式有几种,如何保护自己不会染上艾滋病。

(设计说明)在高中阶段阅读教学中以推理性理解作为教学重点,随着年级的提高要逐渐引导学生对文章和作者的基本思想进行评价。如果阅读教学只停留在讲解词句的字面理解层次上,只能达到对文章表层意思的懂,而不能达到对篇章的全旨、作者的写作意图、思想观点以及文章整体思想的领会,则必然难以有效地培养和提高学生进入深层次的阅读理解能力。

六、课后反思

本节课教学成功之处是引导学生一步接一步地阅读文章表层意思,探讨深层意思,使学生知道了解艾滋病的很多知识以及如何保护自己不受艾滋病的伤害,以及如何对待那些需要帮助的艾滋病人,让学生们懂得艾滋病只是一种病,而不是罪恶。通过复述课文突破课文中的重点及难点。另外一个闪光之处就是利用多个艾滋公益广告不仅直观而且起到了宣传的作用,同时激发了学生的兴趣,使本来泛味的课变得趣味盎然。

不足之处是复述部分学生并没有真正的做到相互讲述艾滋病是怎么传播给人的,只是停留在独白阶段,没有达到预期的合作学习的目的;大多数问题设计没有深度,因此对阅读能力较强的的学生没有完全照顾到。在今后的教学设计中尽量多设计有层次各异的问题。
